This is a medical TV series that follows the lives of young doctors who deal with setbacks, deaths, patients, and tensions on the job as they grow into full-fledged doctors! Set amid the surgery department of a hospital, this is story about love and marriage among four doctors mainly – First year resident Bong Dal Hee, Cardiothoracic surgeon Ahn Joong Geun, General surgeon Lee Gun Wook, and Pediatrician Cho Moon-Kyung.

Dal-hee is a young doctor who graduated from a lesser-known medical school than her fellow doctors and suffers from a heart condition. She starts her first year of residency at the department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery and this TV series follows her trials at work.

Dal Hee who has had a frail health since she was a young and her condition made her want to become a doctor so that she could cure diseases. But in the first year of her residency, she undergoes a heart operation and this forces her to give up her dreams of ever becoming a doctor. She returns to her hometown where she finds work at a local public health clinic but she can not forget her lifelong dream. With little expectation, she applies for a residency at a general hospital in Seoul and she is accepted due to a shortfall of applicants.

Finally, she is able to reach for her dreams again by starting her residency. But she has to complete the 100-day on-call duty in her first year and she tries harder than any other doctor to do her best but she keeps on making small mistakes that leads to serious complications for her patients. As Dal-hee overcomes the prejudices and misperceptions held against her by her peers, she finally gains the respect of her fellow doctors and completes her residency in three years.

During those years, heart specialist Ahn Joong Geun and Dr. Lee Gun Wook develop a rivalry at the hospital to become leading doctors and they also fall in love with Dal-hee.

Dal-hee works under a Joong Geun, and even though they don't get off to a good start, the two grow fond of each other as time goes by. Dal-hee’s health begins to deteriorate because of the grueling working hours at the hospital. She refuses to listen to the advice of her doctor and continues to work.

Because of her health, she tries to take it easy at work but Joong Geun steps up the pressure when he finds her taking breaks. Dal-hee realizes that curing patients has made her life fulfilling and so she relies on her mental edge to keep her going at work but one day she collapses in the middle of an operation. That incident put her entire career on hold.

Joong Geun, a Cardiac specialist, specializing in illness of the cardiac, respiratory and digestive systems. An extremely talented surgeon, despite being specializing in cardiac diseases, he is an all rounder. Supervisor for the Cardiactric department. He feels that it is a sin for a surgeon to make any forms of mistakes; a perfectionist in terms of being a surgeon. He is very strict towards the year 1 interns and therefore he is always angry with Dal Hee who makes mistakes all the time.

Dr. Lee Geon Wook divorced his wife, Dr. Jo Moon Kyung, after he found out that his 6-year-old son was actually fathered by another man before they got married. Even though he still has feelings for her, he often shows indifferent towards his ex wife as he felt betrayed and cheated.

Comments:

I actually watched this show before I watched "Cruel Love". Watched it a few times, especially the scenes between Dal-hee  and  Ahn Joong Geun. Some parts are totally hilarious and heart warming.

Ahn Joong Geun definately is not the ideal type of man you want to get close to but the way he looks out for Dal-hee is so sweet.

I can not  understand Dal-hee's affection towards Lee Geon Wook at first, not sure if its because Dr Lee Geon Wook has a kid and wife (ex-wife), but I prefer her to be with Ahn Joon Geun more.

CAST

Kim So-yeon as Ma Hye-ri
Park Si-Hoo as Seo In-woo
Han Jung Soo as Yoon Se-joon
Choi Song Hyun as Jin Jeong-seon
Park Jung-Ah as Jenny Ahn

About the Drama

This drama revolves around the complicated murder case that happened 15 years ago. In which the father of Ma Hye-ri and Haneul is involved in. The drama is all about crimes, lawyers and prosecutors.

Ma Hye-ri
Ma Hye-ri is the Junior Prosecutor, Midland Prosecutor’s Office and the Daughter of CEO Ma of Dongbang [Eastern] Architecture.Beautiful and stylish, Ma Hye Ri, forced by her father, passed the Bar Exam and graduated from the Judicial Research and Training Institute with top grades.

Raised as the precious daughter of an influential family, she studied as her mother told her to, and got good grades without any goals or personal worries, eventually entering a law college. She was an overweight child, but with hard training overseen by her mother, she grew to have a near perfect figure. She has an IQ of 168, an excellent memory and ability to focus. Despite her talents, she is more interested in being fashionable and dislikes hard work so she is far from being an ideal prosecutor and has doubts about her suitability for her job.

Her passion is all about shopping, manicure, pedicure, skincare, and body maintenance. She is always updated on the latest fashion and products. She wanted to be transferred to Fashion Design, however, her father found out and threatened to disown her and kick her out of the house if she does that.

She seems very spoilt and would buy whatever she likes to be in fashion. However, She has a simple, direct and pure personality. She was really kind very innocent in many ways. She will usually say things that were on her mind and she never realised when she offended anyone since she say things as a matter of factly and she thought was she was saying was right.

Through her conflicts with senior colleagues and struggles with difficult cases, Hye Ri gradually matures into a brilliant prosecutor with a sense of duty and justice.

Seo In Woo, Principal Attorney, Haneul ["sky/or heaven"] Law Offices

Seo In Woo has an unusual resume, he graduated from an American university, then came to Korea to take the bar exam and became a lawyer. Runs the law firm “Haneul,” which houses outsiders who can’t deal with the realities of the legal profession in Korea.

On the outside, he is brilliant and fair. But he has a chilling dark side. He is tenacious, meticulous, and good at reading people’s minds. He stops at nothing to win his clients’ lawsuits, and is not above blackmailing people who deserve it. On the other hand, he is tender and warm toward the innocent. He acts as legal aid or pro bono attorney on behalf of the powerless.

He is the man with an agenda when he stops at nothing to get close to Ma Hye Ri. But little did he know what he is getting into when he gets too close to her. Her innocent and straight forward character makes him unable to stop looking out for her.

Determined to find out the truth and clearing his dad's name. He embarks in the road to no return?

Yoon Se-joon (Chief Prosecutor of Ma Hye-ri’s office)

This man is called “The Gregory Peck of the Prosecutor World.” He is capable, cold, cynical, harsh and has a great sense of justice.

He lost his wife to cancer 3 years ago, and has a 7-year-old daughter. He felt great regrets about his wife’s death since he was not at her deathbed due to his passion for his work.

He is grateful to Prosecutor Jin and her mother for taking care of his daughter, but he obvilous to Jin Jeong-seon’s feelings for him even though he treasures her as a trustworthy junior colleague.
He is severe and cold with Hye-ri, who looks a lot like his wife but of totally different character. He understands that Hye-ri lacks the passion for prosecution job and treats it just like another job.

When everyone gives up on Hye-ri, he gives her an opportunity. Which makes Hye-ri fall for him. He resisted her advances, but as she chases him aimlessly, he finally accepts her feelings.

However, he realised that his affection towards Hye-ri is due to the fact that she is so caring and outward in showing her feelings towards him, on top of the fact that she looks like his dead wife, he slowly realised that he actually had feelings for Jin Jeong-seon instead. He also knows that Hye-ri is actually in love with Seo In Woo.

Jin Jeong-seon

Hye-ri’s senior colleague. Hot-blooded prosecutor who lives by justice and dies by justice.

She became a prosecutor because her father, having lost all of his money to a con, died of a nervous disorder brought on by rage. Because of her work, she has never dreamed of marriage.
All she’s done is admire Yoon Se-joon from afar. She doesn’t know what to do except wait for his wounds to heal. Her mum helps to baby-sit Yoon’s daughter Bin, and she looks after Bin providently.

But when Ma Hye-ri, flaunting her feminine scent, comes into the scene and even finding fault with Jeong-seon’s dress sense and talking back, Jeong-seon could not accept Ma hye ri as a prosecutor. Especially when she thinks that Ma Hye Ri is disrespectful and totally not of prosecutor material. It is even worst when Hye-ri shamelessly makes moves on Yoon Se-joon, the subject of Jeong-seon’s secret affection, and steals him away little by little.

She’s inept at expressing emotions, as well as bumbling, timid, and naively unaware of social norms. Jin Jeong-seon was one of those characters that sometimes fades to the background if you do not look at her carefully. She finally be able to express her feelings for Se-joon.

Comments

At first, I really find that Ma Hye-ri is really not a likeable character, she is really horriblely annoying. Acting indifferent and uncaring towards suspect who has not been convicted.

Totally selfish, spoilt and very snobbish. But slowly you will really liked her as you realise that she does not have any idea of the ways of the world. I can't imagine any girl with so much accessories. Doesn't it feels heavy to carry so many things around you neck, finger and ear?

Kim So-yeon looks so different here compared to her other shows, when I went to search the different shows that she acted in like Gourmet, Athena: Goddess of War and Doctor Champ. She looks very different. Evem the picture that Chief Prosecutor, Yoon Se-Joon , keeps staring at when he misses his wife (in which is actually her picture), looks very different to her image in the drama. I think her hair makes her looks so different here. I actually mistook her as Chae Jung Ahn from Coffee Prince.

Seo In Woo is a really cool character and his smile was so cute! Even though I could not understand why he needs to get Ma Hye-ri involved in his quest to clear the name of his dad who was convicted for murder. I feel so heart broken everytime he looks at Hye-ri in that "I am so sorry" look.

Wonderful scenery, most of the out door scenes have beautiful background. Especially like when Haneul piggy back Ma Hye-ri. So romantic! Haneul has a really good chemistry with Ma Hye-ri.

Great ending, I was afraid that it is going to be another sad ending for Korean drama where the guy leave and the girl missed him a lot but got on with her life striving and working hard. So curious about Seo In Woo's adopted parents but they did not appear in the drama.

On the whole, it is a really entertaining and romantic drama.

About the Drama

Back in her high school days Jeon Seol-Hee (Kim Jung-Eun) was the singer for a legendary rock group, but to support her younger sister's education she started to work as a clerk at a top Korean law firm. While working there she met a brilliant lawyer named Cha Ji-Wook (Kim Seung-Su) and eventually married him. Seol-Hee has become the daughter-in-law of a extremely wealthy family, but Seol-Hee soon learns that all that glitters isn't gold.

At social functions Seol-Hee's husband instructs her to not speak and just nod in agreement with the others. Her mother-in-law (Cha Hwa-Yeon) is incredibly insensitive to Seol-Hee as a person. What pushes Seol-Hee to the edge is when Seol-Hee's younger sister, who is now a doctor, is hospitalized with cancer and needs a bone marrow transplant from Seol-Hee. Seol-Hee's mother-in-law did not allow Seol-Hee to do the medical procedure in which can save her sister. Seol-Hee's husband offers no support to her when she seeks help from him. She is constantly being looked down upon by her mother-in-law. Realizing that she deserved to be treated better, Seol-Hee announces that she will file for divorce, during the family dinner.

Seol-Hee, determined to get her life back on track, she returns to her rock band roots, embarks on a new career as a singer for the "Madonna Band," a female group consisting of "ahjummas" (older women) who have personal problems of their own, and together they search for happiness and personal fulfillment through music.

Mean time, Jang Tae-Hyeon (Lee Jun-Hyuk), a guitarist and composer, shows great interest in Seol-Hee.

Comments

At the start of the show, the main actress transformed from a cool rocker to a classy lady. I was like wow! Cool man! But as you watched on you get extremely angry with the indifferent husband and the high handed mother-in-law who looks down on her. It is so disgusting to see that her husband and her mother in law pretending to be the best husband and mother in law in public, while they can't stand the sight of her.

Typical Korean drama....where woman fall in love get married. Husband loved her but "love her not any more". Mistress gets all the attention at first. Mother-in-law is the worst kind of mother-in-law, looks down on her. Horriblely insensitive. Feels like slapping her. LOL. She divorce him and he starts regretting his decision and now ignores the mistress?

OMG even though old fashion a very heart warming to know that such woman exist in the world. Extremely passionate towards people, when our main lead sees the middle class people at the market gets bullied by the rich family, she steps in and try to help them out. It all started out when she wanted to be her own lawyer for her divorce case. The drama is basically about a women who follows her dreams to be in a band and do something that she has always wanted to do no matter what other people think of her.

I wonder where she finds so much time to snoop around and be the lead singer of her band at the same time.

Kim Jung Eun who plays  Jun Seol Hee is really beautiful and her acting is amazing, I love her in Love in Paris, which is also a reason why I am so excited to watch I am Legent. Her character is so cool and fresh. She is awesome and the character she plays is like one of those awesome friends that everyone wishes they have.

Hong Ji-Min who plays Lee Hwa-Ja, makes the whole drama very refreshing and entertaining. Love her smile, her gestures and her cute face! She is a commical and not too commical character.

Can't say that Tae-Hyeon Seol-Hee's boyfriend, but I kinda hope that the couple will get together. Two injured person become lovey dovey to each other. They both love music, their passion for music can be a common topic for their relationship, but who says that a couple who does not have a common topic can't stay together in the first place =D

Wow, the mistress, Oh Seung Hye, annoys the hell out of me. Of cos not as much as the mother in law character, Ms Hong. Like many Korean dramas this is the kind of people you feels like jumping into the show to give them a tight slap.

About the Drama

Joo Yoo Rin is a tour guide in a small company in charge of running mini tours in the Jeju Island of South Korea. Her father is a gambling addict, but despite all the debts that he runs up, Yoo Rin always finds a way to help repay them. She leads a below-average life but is happy as long as she has her dad around her. Because of her father's gambling ways, she has had to move from country to country whenever her father runs from one place to another to avoid their debtors. This has in turn brought her the ability to converse fluently in Chinese and Japanese, which are of great help as a tour guide whenever she has to entertain tourists from China and Japan.

Seol Gong Chan is the only heir of the owner of L'Avenuel Hotel, which is one of the top hotels in Korea. His grandfather, Seol Woong, makes him in charge of the duty to find his granddaughter, who is also Gong Chan's cousin. Seol Woong had disowned his own daughter, Gong Chan's aunt, when she decided to marry a man who is not of his choice.

However, when Seol Woong had a change of heart and wished to accept his daughter back, an earthquake struck where his daughter lived, and since then, he has lost all contacts. He thinks that the only chance to make amends for his own stubbornness, will be to take care of his granddaughter and hopefully make things right.

Kim Se Hyun is the girlfriend of Seol Gong Chan. A rising star in the tennis world, she returns to Korea to look for Gong Chan since she cannot forget him.

Seo Jung Woo is the son of one of the main shareholders of L'Avenuel Hotel and also the best friend of Seol Gong Chan. Unlike Gong Chan who is responsible and hardworking, Jung Woo is a flirt who is known to have many girlfriends.

The story starts with Yoo Rin rushing to the airport. She is helping her friend delay a flight so that the tourists of her friend will not miss their flight. Out of ideas, she plays a damsel in distress, who is apparently mourning her impending death and her dying wish to see her boyfriend who is apparently on the flight.

After much crying and the airport crew empathize with her, she gets to get on board the plane to look for her boyfriend who never really existed. As she walks, she realize she cannot find anyone and pretends to faint. She faints beside the seat of our male lead, Seol Gong Chan, who sees through her act immediately.

Although their first encounter is weird, it doesn't leave much of an impression in each other's mind. Later, however, when Gong Chan had to entertain a bunch of Chinese visitors and realizes he has no translator, he engages the services of Yoo Rin and through Yoo Rin, his potential Chinese investors have a great time at the L'Avenuel Hotel branch in Jeju.

After a series of comical events including Yoo Rin staying at his hotel lodge without paying, and Yoo Rin selling his hotel fruityard's oranges to make a small profit (to clear her father's debts again), Gong Chan perceieve Yoo Rin as a cheat and he would want distance himself from her.

But then word from mainland Korea is that his grandfather is dying and at his bedside, Seol Woong, through his respirator, can only meekly repeat that he must not and cannot die until he sees his granddaughter again.

Driven by desperation and his love for his grandfather, Gong Chan would do anything to ease his burden. When pointed out by his secretary that Yoo Rin bears a resemblance to his aunt, Gong Chan hatches a plan to pass off Yoo Rin as his grandfather's long-lost granddaughter whilst he carries on searching for the real one.

Yoo Rin, who is desperate for money to repay her father's debt, is unwilling to do the job as it involves lying to a dying man, something that she staunchly refuses to do. But when Seol Gong Chan desperately begs her and she realizes she is somewhat indebted to him for not bringing her to the police after her little business in his hotel, she caves in and pretends to the long-lost granddaughter.

Things seems to be going well, with the search for Gong Chan's long-lost cousin making progress and perhaps more importantly, the improvement of Gong Chan's grandfather's conditions thanks to Yoo Rin. As Yoo Rin spends more time with Gong Chan's family, she gets showered with the love she never received as a child and finds herself drawn to Gong Chan. She finds herself changing from the liar that she once was to a person who tries to tell the truth when she can. But she knows all too well that her one-sided love will never materialize as the difference in social status between Gong Chan and herself is too big.

But unknown to her, Gong Chan is also slowly being drawn to her...

Comments

Nice drama, one of the chick flick that most girls will like again. Poor little girl, talented, kind and even though a liar due to circumstances mets prince charming and falls in love. Actually Lee Dong Wook not too much of a prince charming at first, but also a kind soul...

This drama has a good balance of hilarious moments and moments that make you tear and wrench your heart. Compared to other dramas, I laughed a lot more than I cried while watching this drama.

Sadly, Lee Jun Ki is reduced to mere flower vase in "My Girl". LOL who is prettier? Lee Jun Ki or Lee Da Hae? Even though Lee Da Hae was absolutely eye-catching, I keep thinking that Jun Ki has such a pretty face, sometimes I thought he looks prettier then most girls.

Even though I pity Jung Woon since he was unable to win Yoo Rin's heart but I do not think that he deserve her more then Gong Chan.

The last scene when the real granddaughter was found, that was downright hilarious. Yoo Rin and Gong Chan ended up together though I am not sure if they were married in the end since it was not shown or explained, but Yoo Rin ended up living in the house with them again.

Mizuki blames herself for the incident and vows to make him jump again.

Hence she enters the same high school,  Sakurazaki Academy, disguised as a boy! With a short hair, flattened chest and lowered voice, she starts sharing the same room with Sano.

When she arrives at Sakurazaki Academy, she meets Nakatsu Shoichi, a soccer player who is Sano’s good friend, Sekime Kyogo, the captain of the track team, Kashiyama Taiki, who has an ability to see a person’s aura, the beautiful Nakao Senri and Noe Shinji, the president of the manga-anime society. Meanwhile, Mizuki finds out that the ball game competition that has been a long tradition between Sakurazaki Academy and Tokyo Academy, which Sano’s rival and fellow high jump athlete Kagurazaka Makoto attends, will be cancelled this year. Enlisting the help of Nakatsu, Namba and the others, she runs about to try to make the competition take place.

Comments

Definately a hilarious comedy...nonsensical but funny...I laughed from start till end and Ashiya Mizuki never fails to amaze me. She is so pretty, and lady like, how can these boys not know that she is a girl?! OMG

The Taiwanese version Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu (花樣少年少女) is acted by Ella a popular singer from the S.H.E. group. I have not watched it yet. But a lot of my friends told me that it really nice. I have to watch first before I can compare but the Japanese version as I can say now is really a drama worth your time to watch if you like comedy. A lot of ridiculas parts, especialy the gender detection part....LOL...

I can not imagine that the school doctor who discovered Ashiya's real gender, instead of asking her to leave the school, is actually supportive of her as long as it is to get Sano back into the track and field team.

Ikuta Toma extreme acting makes the show so enjoyable in fact every one of them are so funny...

Seo Hye Jin as Jo Hyun Jung (Byeong Hee’s co-worker)
Kim Hak Chul as a auto repair shop owner
Lee Hyuk Jae
Han Young Kwang

About the Drama:

Single 33 year-old Go Byeong Hee works as a reporter for a sex magazine. 24-year-old Park Chui Su, mechanic and world traveler, is the younger brother of Byeong Hee’s best friend. He’s a free spirit and not concerned with what the world thinks. On the night after Byeong Hee found out that her first love is actually gay, the two old family friends get drunk and wake up in bed together.

Byeong Hee wants to forget it ever happened, especially since a good marriage prospect has just made an appearance in the form of a Urologist, Dr Bae Hee Myung.

Unfortunately for her Chui Su has other ideas. Unbeknownst to her, Park Chui Su has been carrying a torch for her since young and wants to pursue her. Their courtship attracts the usual cliche of older woman-younger man barks from the public. In one scene, she is mistaken as his aunt on a date.

Meanwhile, Byeong Hee’s sister, Jun Hee, 25, an aspiring model is being ‘sponsored’ by an eccentric widower who is 17 years older. She resembles his late wife. She falls in love with him but he rejects her.

Byeong Hee's mother is troubled by her daughters’ romances and prefers the doctor for a son-in-law. Park Chui Su then decides to break off with Byeong Hee when he receives his enlistment notice.

Comments:

Personally, I cannot understand how she can choose Park over the Dr Bae, who is charming and witty, not to mention rich and successful (money and career do make a man appears more attractive). In comparison, Chui Su  behaves childishly, throwing tantrums.

This is one romance series worth watching because it is fun and hilarious. There many sexual references and fantasies in the drama, the scenes on such are simply hilarious. The ending episodes when Chui Su prepares to leave for his two-year army....very touching...
